Robots, no.

Don’t get me wrong, I love robots, but I’m sick of the hypey over-sell on the twin topics of  Robots and AI.  Every year we get treated to the same “20 years from now, they’re gonna take our jerbs.”

This article from The New York Times does at least sum up the true state of the art:

Reporters were once again left grasping for appropriate metaphors to describe the slow-motion calisthenics performed by the menagerie of battery-powered machines.

So without further ado, show’em what you got, boys:
